Position Summary We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support our providers at our Rockville clinic. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities to help ensure seamless patient care and efficient daily operations. The schedule for this position is Monday 7:15 AM - 2:15 PM, and Tuesday - Friday 7:15 AM - 4:00 PM .

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program
  • Current ( not expired ) CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Current BLS or CPR certification
  • Must meet CPC’s medical clearance requirements, including documentation for: Hepatitis B vaccination Pneumococcal screening Tuberculosis screening Approved religious or medical accommodation may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Primary Care and/or Internal Medicine experience
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) and Athena
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Awareness of population health

Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain patient records, medical charts, and documentation
  • Schedule appointments for physical exams and chronic disease management
  • Process prior authorizations and referrals, and respond to inquiries from patients and providers
  • Track and link diagnostic imaging (DI) with provider orders
  • Confirm patient insurance for billable lab services
  • Take and document patient vitals, screenings, and health logs
  • Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms
  • Operate equipment (EKG, X-ray, etc.) and assist with diagnostic testing
  • Administer injections and perform routine lab tests
  • Support PCMH and quality initiatives
  • Cover staff absences and assist team members as needed
  • Interpret instructions, communicate clearly, and solve routine problems
