About The Position

Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) is a growing group of 11 office locations providing high-quality primary care across Northern Virginia, Eastern Maryland, and Washington, DC. We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our providers at our Chevy Chase clinic. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities to help ensure seamless patient care and efficient daily operations. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program
  • Current (not expired) CCMA, CMA, or RMA Certification
  • Current BLS or CPR certification
  • Must meet CPC’s medical clearance requirements, including documentation for: Hepatitis B vaccination Pneumococcal screening Tuberculosis screening

Nice To Haves

  • Primary Care experience
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) and Athena
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Awareness of population health

Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain patient records, medical charts, and documentation
  • Schedule appointments for physical exams and chronic disease management
  • Process prior authorizations and respond to messages from patients and providers
  • Track and link diagnostic imaging (DI) with provider orders
  • Confirm patient insurance for billable lab services
  • Take and document patient vitals, screenings, and health logs
  • Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms
  • Operate equipment (EKG, X-ray, etc.) and assist with diagnostic testing
  • Administer injections and perform routine lab tests
  • Support PCMH and quality initiatives
  • Cover staff absences and assist team members as needed
  • Interpret instructions, communicate clearly, and solve routine problems
