About The Position
GENERAL SUMMARY The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Functions under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed health care provider. Provides appropriate clinical and non-clinical information to facilitate visit process. Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment. Maintains supplies, equipment and instruments. Supports and performs clerical functions as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant preferred, or military medical experience with MA certification/registration required.
- CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistants (MOA, MAA, MA).
- Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred.
