Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Order, collecting, process routine and specialty testing, and returning results back to doctor. Obtain, process doctors orders, and data entry. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure. Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling samples. Follows clinic & hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering of samples to laboratory.   • Proficiency in collecting correct blood samples and other body fluids, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting and delivering samples to laboratory.
  • Knowledge of handling laboratory supplies and stocks supplies.
  • Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient’s expectation.
  • Adherence by staff to all policy and procedures.
  • Provides age appropriate care.
  • Reporting monitoring and management of patient and staff incidents.
  • Monitoring and management of patient and physician satisfaction results.
  • Follows standards precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Knowledge and performance of sterile tech.
  • Maintain, develop and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of organizations and specialists.
  • Maintain effective working relationships between nursing, clerical, medical and allied health staff.
  • May perform special tests such as clotting times, bleeding times, and glucose tolerance tests and report results to other lab personal.
  • Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
  • Organize requisitions received for collection, Maintains records of tests performed Scanning orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
  • Maintains Point of Care documents and performs Quality Control management.
  • Orients and mentors new staff members
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Graduation from an accredited Health Sciences program or higher.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Valid CMA certificate/license.
  • Experience with computers and office equipment, required.
  • The ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must understand medical terminology.
  • General Math skills.
  • Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.
  • Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker.
  • Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Team player and flexible.
  • Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Can recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity.
  • Phlebotomy course and phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • CMA course, Phlebotomy course and phlebotomy experience.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
