Medical Assistant to Support Male-Sensitive Clinical Care
About The Position
Las Vegas Urology, a well-respected and growing practice, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our physicians and patients in a role that includes male-sensitive exams, procedures, and direct patient care. Due to the nature of these procedures and frequent requests from patients for gender-concordant care, we are seeking a candidate who is comfortable performing sensitive tasks for male patients, including intimate procedures, catheterizations, impotence testing, and related clinical support. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with clinical and clerical functions in a medical setting
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and preparing them for exams
- Assisting with in-office procedures and setting up instruments
- Managing control logs and ensuring compliance documentation
- Performing wound checks, suture/staple removal, and educating patients on wound care
- Specimen collection and handling (venipuncture, urinalysis, prostate tissue)
- Administering injections (Lupron, Depo-Provera, Testosterone, Collagen testing)
- Catheter insertions/removals, voiding trials, bladder instillations, and teaching self-catheterization
- Conducting impotence testing (Doppler, Biothesiometry)
- Reviewing lab results and communicating with patients
- Preparing charts and handling patient calls
- Performing general clerical duties (scanning, faxing, emails, record keeping)
