About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides routine clinical and administrative support to the Primary Care and Pediatrics practice. This role assists physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining a professional and compassionate environment for patients and families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent training
  • Current certification or registration as one of the following: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Strong critical thinking , organizational , and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Demonstrates professionalism , discretion , and excellent patient service
  • Capable of working independently and collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and general office software

Nice To Haves

  • One year of related clinical experience in a physician's office or outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers and nurses with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures
  • Perform basic diagnostic testing and specimen collection (e.g., blood draws, swabs, urinalysis)
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the EHR system and maintain confidentiality of records
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising clinician
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies: clean, restock, reorder, and troubleshoot as needed
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Perform front-office duties as needed, including scheduling, reception, patient registration, and data entry
  • Support clinical workflows to enhance patient throughput and overall experience
