About The Position
Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Primary Location: Glenview, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week) Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM; weekend rotation every 2-3 months Saturdays 7:00AM-4:00PM and Sundays 7:00AM-2:00PM Required Travel: Travel to other sites as needed (Skokie and Lincolnshire) What you will do: Answer phones Schedule appointments Collect co-payments Complete patient registration Provide other administrative support to the physician practice Check in and check out patient Verify insurances Greet patients and escort them to exam room Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit Provide front office support as needed Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight Phlebotomy and injections may be required Work with Trauma Care Team at Glenbrook Hospital primarily, as well as Skokie and Lincolnshire Ortho offices as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- Strong clinical skills and Epic experience
- One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
