About The Position

Position Highlights: Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant, Cancer Center Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL Full Time | 40 hours/week Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm/8:30am-5pm, no weekends or holidays. Schedule will be based on clinical needs. What you will do: Answer phones Schedule appointments Collect co-payments Complete patient registration Provide other administrative support to the physician practice Check in and check out patient Verify insurances Greet patients and escort them to exam room Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit Provide front office support as needed Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
