About The Position

Under the supervision of the provider and/or practice manager, this position assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice. The role involves assisting the provider in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of the provider, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in patients' charts. It also includes preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients and being cross-trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care. Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio, committed to promoting and restoring health with safety as a top priority.

Requirements

  • For MA/CMA: Current Medical Assistant certification/registration as CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT) OR completion of KHMG Medical Assistant Training Program OR MA program through an accredited institution of higher learning AND successful attainment of certification/registration within 15 months of hire
  • For LPN: Graduate of accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with current Ohio license
  • Medical assistants who are not certified or registered at the time of hire will be restricted from administering medication and entering Epic orders until the required credentials are obtained and verified
  • For STNAs or CNAs: At least 6 months of direct patient care experience

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting
  • Experience with use of electronic medical records
  • Practical knowledge in examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion
