About The Position

This position can be filled by a Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or EMT, and requires the candidate to be bilingual in Spanish. The Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA) or EMT assists in coordinating primary health care services for a large outpatient client population, working under the direction of a physician, mid-level provider, RN, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists physicians in providing patient care services in an efficient, customer service-oriented manner within a medical office environment. The LPN is responsible for establishing and maintaining good working relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and hospital associates. The nurse in this position must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate service to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Must pass the Goshen Health standardized Spanish Competency Evaluation
  • American Heart Association CPR certification
  • Must maintain license, certification and or credentials in good status to perform required job duties
  • If Medical Assistant (MA) or EMT: Graduate of an accredited career/vocational school with a medical assisting (MA) degree, certificate or diploma or completion of basic or advanced EMT or Paramedic course
  • If Medical Assistant (MA) or EMT: Hold active CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification or pass exam given by any credentialing agency for medical assistants to be considered a “credentialed medical assistant” or hold an active EMT or Paramedic Certification
  • If Medical Assistant (MA) or EMT: Colleague has 6 months from time of hire to become certified MA or EMT
  • If Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Hold a diploma in Nursing
  • If Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Current license as licensed practical nurse (LPN) issued by the Indiana Health Professions Bureau

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years experience in a physician office setting
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
