About The Position

This is a full-time Medical Assistant II position located in Charlottesville, VA, within a high-volume, team-oriented practice. The schedule is Monday through Friday. The role involves performing various nursing procedures (excluding certain injections, triage, IVs, and IV medications) as directed by a clinician, maintaining accurate inventory of medical supplies, assisting in the selection of division equipment, and participating in quality assurance and continuing education. The Medical Assistant II is also responsible for assisting in the efficient flow of patients and attending work as scheduled. The employer, CVHS, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making it a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligible Employer.   • Demonstrates clinical competence
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
  • Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
  • Proof of re-certification, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
