About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant I for a short-term contract assignment in a fast-paced medical group setting. The Medical Assistant will support both clinical and administrative operations, ensuring high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (at least one MA certification required – CCMA preferred)
  • Excellent phone etiquette, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • BLS Certification (required)
  • Medical Assistant Certification (required – at least one of the following): CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) CMAC NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant) RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) – AMT CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) – AAMA

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties including EKGs, lab testing, PFTs, audiometry, and vital signs collection
  • Admit patients to exam rooms and obtain medical, medication, and allergy histories
  • Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation, including lab logs and daily equipment checks
  • Follow CLIA, OSHA, and universal precaution guidelines
  • Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms and medical areas
  • Register patients, update demographics and insurance information, and manage daily ledgers
  • Schedule appointments and process patient referrals and HMO authorizations
  • Answer phones professionally, take messages, and ensure timely follow-up
  • Retrieve, file, and maintain medical records and lab results
  • Balance ledger sheets and manage cash box accountability
  • Provide discharge instructions as directed by physicians and notify patients of test results
  • Communicate patient concerns or emergencies promptly to physicians
  • Maintain professionalism and deliver courteous, patient-centered service at all times
