This Medical Assistant I position is for an Ambulatory & Outpatient setting, working on a PRN (as needed) basis. The role involves adhering to the Medical Assistant scope of practice and providing direct patient care. Key responsibilities include performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and various screenings. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties like venipuncture and specimen collection, conduct Point of Care testing, and administer medications and vaccines safely. Additional duties encompass medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, ordering supplies, appointment scheduling, and referrals. The role requires cross-training relevant to specialty or clinic practice and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development across the life span.
