About The Position

CURRENT HOLLAND HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES- Please apply through Find Jobs from your Workday employee account. Provides coverage for duties relative to a centralized referral system. In addition, the position will obtain patient information, maintain medical record information, coordinate patient care information with other health care providers and obtain prior authorizations. The role will assist in the referral process by setting appointments for patients, assists with insurance verification, and document management. The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide follow through and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area. Will procure referrals and submit documentation necessary to complete the referral process. Pay Range: $15.72 - 23.21/hour Employment Type: Full Time, 72 hours every 2 weeks Schedule: Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required, Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration or LPN required. Experience with outgoing and incoming patient referrals, scheduling procedures, handling incoming faxes and document management required -2-3 years experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office preferred COMMUNIATION/CUSTOMER SERVICE Communicates professionally and effectively with patients or families when appropriate, referral sources, internal customers, insurance payers, Practice Managers, and multi-disciplinary team of providers. Understands essential role in patient care coordination. Anticipates and provides support to clinical teams so that they can focus on clinical productivity. Assures that messages, forms, and documentation are distributed in a timely and accurate manner. Communicates through a variety of methods including verbal, written, and electronic. Ability to prioritize messages, forms, and documents DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT Timely retrieval and delivery of fax inbox documents. Accurately assign patient documents to appropriate patient, appropriate folder with appropriate name per naming convention guidelines (AAA). Effectively routes documents to appropriate team members. Compliant with patient confidentiality / HIPAA regulations. REFERRALS/AUTHORIZATIONS/ORDER MANAGEMENT Ensures referrals are complete and accurate. Ensures that prior authorizations or pre-certifications are completed prior to referral being sent. Prioritize open and pending referrals, authorizations, and orders based on urgency and lengths of outstanding status. Daily management of referrals, authorizations, and orders. Run and actively work referral reports on daily basis to maximize performance. Follow steps in work flow process from initiation of referral to closing and completing the referral loop. QUALITY IMPROVEMENT Supports the quality improvement activities of the practices and understands role in quality improvement initiatives. Participates in learning experiences as appropriate. Ensures compliance with Organizations Quality Improvement program. Maintains and closes work flow process relative to referrals, authorizations, and orders to satisfy quality improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration or LPN required.
