About The Position

Centurion is proud to be the provider of medical and mental healthcare services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking a Full-time Medical Assistance Coordinator to support our Regional Pre-Trial Team in Baltimore, Maryland. The Medical Assistance Coordinator participates in patient treatment as directed by a multidisciplinary team. This person accepts patient care reports and assignments from the supervising nurse. The SW Medical Assistance Coordinator provides direct patient healthcare including taking and recording vital signs, recording food and fluid intake and output, applying non-sterile dressings and collecting specimens such as urine and sputum. This person performs and assists patients with activities of daily living as needed including feeding, basic hygiene care, ambulation, toileting and transfers to/from bed, wheelchair, etc. They perform or assist with patient treatments including nebulizer therapy, oxygen administration, hot/cold applications and others as instructed. This person observes patient responses to treatment and records information in the health/medical record using an established format or form.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program and current certification in accordance with state requirements
  • Current enrollment in nursing school or six months’ patient care experience
  • One year of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, home health or physician’s office
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
