Join us as a Media Specialist supporting the USMC Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch, capturing dynamic stills and videos across rugged terrains, beaches, and on-water vessels. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Up to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
  • The ability to lift at least 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is desired
  • Experience with multi-camera syncing/editing is desired
  • Experience archiving media files is desired
  • Experience with audio editing and mixing is desired
  • Experience organizing media, including editing and renaming older media files is desired
  • Familiarity with CyberLink PowerDirector is desired

Responsibilities

  • Transporting cameras, video equipment, and necessary gear safely to various locations
  • Taking still photos and video in training areas, including on the AVTB Rear Area Maintenance Point (RAMP), on rugged terrain, on the beach, on the Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) and workboat in the water, during test execution
  • Testing, cleaning, maintaining, and repairing equipment, including microphones
  • Using traditional or digital cameras, along with a variety of equipment, such as tripods, filters, and flash attachments
  • Adjusting positions and controls of cameras and related equipment to change focus, exposure, and lighting
  • Observing test locations to identify potential problems, as well as filming and lighting requirements
  • Organizing and parsing raw footage into continuous video according to scripts or instructions
  • Selecting and combining shots of each scene to form a logical and smooth story
  • Editing films and videotapes to insert music, dialogue, and sound effects and to correct errors using editing equipment
  • Conferring with government personnel concerning layout or editing approaches
  • Editing video for production and archiving, including non-linear editing using software, such as CyberLink PowerDirector
  • Maintaining inventory of audio-visual equipment
  • Compressing, digitizing, duplicating, and storing audio and video data
  • Manipulating and enhancing scanned or digital images to create desired effects, using specialized software, such as Adobe Photoshop
  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy
  • Creating designs, concepts, and sample layouts
  • Developing graphics and layouts for product illustrations and company logos
  • Transferring photographs to computers for editing, archiving, and electronic transmission
