The Media Manager will play a pivotal role in this growth by strengthening and expanding partnerships with key vendors across the Staples Media Network. You will develop and execute top‑tier media programs on behalf of Staples and its vendor partners. This highly motivated individual—with proven relationship‑building and cross‑functional collaboration skills—will work alongside the Senior Manager to manage partnerships, sales, media strategy, and campaign deployment for vendors aligned to merchandising categories. You’ll be responsible for flawless campaign execution, performance reporting, and presenting insights that drive future strategy. You will partner closely with vendors and senior internal stakeholders to align on goals, develop innovative media plans, identify new opportunities, and guide full‑funnel execution with media planners.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
  • 5+ years of advertising, media, or account management experience; agency experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting digital media strategies, including planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Ability to articulate the business value of digital media and its impact on supplier sales.
  • Strong process and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with multiple digital media channels (search, display, email, onsite, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to build credible, trusting relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • E‑commerce experience, ideally within a retail media network or with retail brands.
  • Experience activating campaigns using first‑party data (CRM) and audience‑led targeting strategies.
  • Understanding of lower‑funnel media KPIs (sales, ROI/ROAS, revenue) and tactics that drive them.
  • Comfort leading high‑impact stakeholder conversations across vendors, agencies, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sr. Manager in building vendor relationships and delivering against established sales targets.
  • Activate media across multiple channels, including paid search, display, email, and onsite placements (Staples.com, SA.com).
  • Manage concurrent media campaigns from launch to completion using strong project management skills.
  • Identify and participate in new‑business pitches to expand the SMN vendor portfolio.
  • Support annual planning, quarterly reviews, forecasting, and regular vendor check‑ins.
  • Partner with merchandising leaders to grow revenue, adoption, and strategic alignment across vendor partnerships.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to deliver reporting and refine future campaign plans based on results.
  • Lead vendor and agency calls such as status meetings, reporting readouts, and performance discussions.
  • Guide strategy development, vendor selection, budget planning, and KPI alignment across campaigns.
  • Provide insights to optimize campaigns and interpret results to drive business decisions.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration with merchandising, marketing, media, inventory, and promotional teams.
  • Oversee billing and invoicing workflows and maintain accurate operational processes.
  • Serve as day‑to‑day contact for vendor partners and agency teams.
  • Triage campaign execution with media planners and ad operations to ensure timely and accurate launches.
  • Deliver best‑in‑class service to tier‑1 vendor partners while scaling support for tier‑2 and tier‑3 partners.
