This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, hardworking and accomplished team of Aerospace technicians, you will be responsible for maintenance of facility and operations of the facility within the test and flight operations program . You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the program in support of R ocket E ngine T esting . Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • 3+ years of experience in fluids testing, processing and facility support, testing rocket or jet engines or closely related applications
  • Test, flight and safety critical hardware
  • Standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment
  • Experience with low and high pressure pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. work in adverse weather conditions and climb stairs and ladders and work at heights.
  • 2 year vocational degree with related mechanical curriculum or A&P licensed or Military training .
  • Ability to work 1 st , 2 nd . or 3 rd shift

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years’ experience in propulsion facility/systems or launch vehicle processing for flight operations to include Launch and Recovery Ops, Rocket and or Crew capsule system Maintenance, Integration and Test.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants and Launch facility cryogenic support systems, including Liquid Hydrogen, Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Nitrogen, and Liquid Helium.
  • Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD tools (CREO is preferred).
  • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, proof & test) and pressurized system safety
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • MIG/TIG, orbital welding, drone operator experience a plus.
  • Ability to recommend Methods and Solutions to help develop effective maintenance, integration and testing procedures.
  • Aerospace vacuum system experience.

Responsibilities

  • Test facility construction, operation, and maintenance:
  • Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
  • Test article integration and checkout
  • General troubleshooting of fluid components and fluid systems
  • General maintenance of mechanical components and systems
  • Propellant offloading
  • Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation
  • -Test article integration and system test checkout
  • Reviewing, editing and following test procedures
  • Operation of test facility
  • General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc.
  • Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and test development
  • Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
  • Providing design feedback on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and test article(s)
  • Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high pressure systems
  • Understanding of 5S and FOD control procedures
