About The Position

This individual will be responsible for managing projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality mechanical designs for building structures. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong technical background, project management experience, and the ability to mentor and develop team members.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
15+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably within a consulting firm
7+ years in project management
relevant leadership experience.
Thorough understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, piping, and energy recovery systems.
Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines, mechanical/building/energy codes, and design of medical gas systems (a plus).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and Bluebeam (preferred).
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage MP/FP projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
Provide leadership, direction, and training to the engineering team.
Design and analyze mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and piping.
Conduct heating/cooling load calculations.
Review and produce construction documents, drawings, reports, and specifications.
Participate in design coordination meetings and collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors.
Assist with field measurements, data collection, site inspections, and commissioning processes.
Support business development efforts, including responding to RFQs and participating in project interviews.
Supervise and evaluate team performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.
