About The Position

Job Summary: The Mechanical Millwright Maintenance Technician will install, maintain, and repair the industrial equipment, heavy machinery, and parts onsite at a 24/7 continuous chemical manufacturing plant. Install new equipment, inspect and repair rotating and permanent equipment, troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical maintenance issues, execute preventative maintenance and replace parts as required to ensure reliability of plants in Baytown, TX. Local candidates only.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and operate the systems and critical equipment used onsite at a chemical manufacturing plant; perform various system checks and accurately assess the data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams, and maintenance related software systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical and equipment drawings, schematics, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to demonstrate safety when using hand power tools commonly used in plant maintenance tasks.
  • Strong understanding of properties, behaviors, and the hazards of tools and critical equipment used in chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and act with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • 5 years or more of mechanical millwright maintenance experience in a related role onsite at a 24/7 continuous chemical manufacturing plant or industrial refinery work environment.
  • Previous industrial and mechanical maintenance knowledge and expertise required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all rotating and fixed equipment functions safely and efficiently through preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and calibrations of equipment used onsite to avoid disruptions and optimize both performance and plant production.
  • Repair and replace rotating and fixed equipment, parts, and components onsite effectively and safely.
  • Install, assemble, and move heavy industrial machinery and equipmentas required.
  • Perform routine maintenance, lubricate parts and clean components used for blasting and painting, assemble and install any new equipment as required.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance measures to avoid potential issues, minimize down time and malfunctions to keep machinery and equipment in good working order to support and optimize production.
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures, recognize and avoid safety hazards to mitigate risk and enhance company culture of safety.
  • Accurately document repair time, parts usage, and related information required to close out work orders in the eMaint system, complete maintenance reports daily, and champion maintenance best practices to drive efficiency.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, champion a clean and safe work environment in and around the asset, the warehouse area, and the control room.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis and communicate findings to the Leads and Managers, consistently share candid feedback about maintenance issues or repairs in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
