Dolese Delivers: Stable Foundation Treat with Respect Safe Environments Employee Focus JOB SUMMARY: The primary functions of the Plant Maintenance Tech include but are not limited to ensuring quality plant maintenance by performing general repairs on all company equipment in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

Requirements

  • Possess a safe work history.
  • Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program.
  • Plant maintenance mechanic or plant oiler with 3 to 5-years’ experience or more and/or:
  • Plant maintenance mechanic – knowledge and ability to meet expectations of plant maintenance mechanic II as well as to properly perform plant maintenance to include but not limited to all conveyor belt repairs, replacing pad mount speed reducers and properly aligning hubs, all pan feeder and screen unit repairs, and rebuilding all styles of crushers utilized at plant maintenance mechanic’s plant.
  • Plant oiler – knowledge and ability to properly perform plant preventive maintenance to include but not limited to proper greasing techniques, amounts and schedules, installing, repairing or replacing grease lines, oil changes in speed reducers, crushers, feeders and screen units, and proper oil sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform all types of plant maintenance without supervision.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Good safety, behavior and attendance record.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work collectively in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
  • Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
  • Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor.
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather extremes.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, over time and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
  • Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently.
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting.
  • Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of automation software and diagnostics would be helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA.
  • Follow all company policies and local, state and federal regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Operate mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair on all company equipment to include but not limited to conveyors, screen units, crushers and vibrating feeders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed on all company equipment to include but not limited to conveyors, screen units, crushers and vibrating feeders.
  • Maintains, inspects, and repairs stationary and portable equipment in accordance with instructions, equipment manuals, etc.
  • May cut and weld in a variety of repair and fabrication work
  • May weld components of metal tools, fixtures, and other metal products.
  • Changes bearings, conveyor idlers, head pulleys, and tail pulleys and installs and splices conveyor belts.
  • Performs repair work on failed components such as bearings, drive systems, and conveyors.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and power transmission.
  • Perform workplace exams, pre-shift inspections and post-shift inspections as needed.
  • Repair and/or clean equipment as needed.
  • Assisting welders as needed.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat and professional appearance of self, shop and work areas.
  • Comprehend and complete all needed paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
