About The Position

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration (preferred).
  • Experience or understanding of locomotive mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Title 49 CFR rules and regulations in the passenger rail industry.
  • Familiarity with managing complex administration departments and assets.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office.
  • Ability to learn new software applications such as Maximo and SAP.
  • Leadership and organizational skills to supervise and coordinate work activities of direct reports.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with customers and internal stakeholders effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Classroom facilitation and/or training experience in an adult education environment (preferred).
  • FRA and DOT knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating the safe and efficient mechanical operations activities.
  • Supervising the performance of the department, including equipment reliability, property management, and transportation for a twenty-four/seven service contract operation.
  • Directing and administering supervisory and technical staff to ensure quality and timely delivery of maintenance operations.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of equipment to the customer to maintain uptime availability of rolling equipment.
  • Serving as a liaison with the customer and Alstom to ensure quality service is provided.
  • Ensuring all jurisdictional specifications, standards, Federal/State or Province regulations or laws, and BTNA policies are adhered to and communicated effectively to employees.
  • Supervising, hiring, monitoring, and coordinating work activities of direct reports.
  • Controlling expenditures in accordance with the budget and reviewing and authorizing purchases of supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Learning and utilizing new software applications such as Maximo and SAP to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Applying advanced knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with Title 49 CFR rules and regulations in the passenger rail industry.
