You’ll experience a culture where your growth and contributions truly matter. Coffman Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Industrial Engineer (three to five years) for our Spokane Office. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player, looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. We are looking for someone who works effectively with all personality types, is interested in being mentored by senior engineers in industrial design, and who desires to grow professionally and stay involved in the activities and exciting trends in the industry. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited program in mechanical engineering
  • Registration as an E.I.T. preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience at an industrial consulting or manufacturing firm. Relevant internship experience will be considered part of the 3-5 years
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems with emphasis in the industrial areas of machine design, structures, and material handling, including cranes, spillway/ weir gates, hoists and various industrial equipment
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel. Understanding of conditional formatting and macro functions is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present decisions and reasoning in a clear and concise manner
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks Simulation or advanced FEA software is a plus
  • Desire and passion to learn intricacies of complex industrial systems
  • CAD experience drafting machined components and understanding of fabrication shop practices is preferred
  • Previous experience in fabrication shops and/or field work crews is preferred
  • HVAC/Plumbing experience is not desired and will not be considered
