About The Position

The position of a Mechanical Equipment Operator (MEO) is responsible to set-up, operate and maintain mechanical equipment. A MEO performs the field machining work toward its projects’ goal of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Service. A MEO will perform work as required to maximize the quality of the Company while maintaining the specified expectations of the client and ensure safe working environment while performing work and will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures and maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4-5 years prior work experience in related industry and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • See, read, write, and understand communication including directions, instructions, and warning signs.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or relevant training and 6+ years prior work experience in related industry.
  • HAZWOPPER training certificate.
  • First Aid and CPR trained.
  • Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Set up mechanical equipment for operation.
  • Start equipment and make adjustments when necessary to improve performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance as required.
  • Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness in work area.
  • Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to Supervisor.
  • Ensure safe working environment while performing work in the client’s facilities.
  • Operate and maintain company owned and rented equipment.
  • Report any job scope changes to the Supervisor or Superintendent.
  • Maintain communication with Supervisor while performing tasks.
  • Support the Supervisor and Superintendent by assisting in the development of customer expectations and timelines.
  • Ensure the overall safety of assigned subordinates and provide a safe work environment for such personnel.
  • Assist in the selection and development of field personnel as requested.
  • Follow all Company Safety, Quality Control/ Quality Assurance procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • See, read, write, and understand communication including directions, instructions, and warning signs.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
  • Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
  • Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned .
