About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Equipment Operator to work on our Equipment and Heavy Equipment Operations team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) with every other)) Friday off. You will operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders. You may repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties. You will report to the manager of the Equipment and Heavy Equipment Operations department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement.
  • Ability to obtain/qualify for Radiological Worker II within 90 days of hire date and maintain qualification for duration of employment.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate power tools and light and medium equipment including, but not limited to, backhoes, loaders, compactors, and dump trucks with trailers. Other equipment may include sweepers, equipment transport vehicles, snowplows, and related maintenance equipment of the assigned facility.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
  • Perform flagging and traffic control duties at work sites.
  • Perform basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
