We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our team in healthcare facilities functions of the company that impact patient care and safety nationwide. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience while you integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and develop your skills in a professional setting. Program Overview: Full-Time, Paid Internship Onsite in Dallas, TX June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to healthcare facilities nationwide (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • Senior-level status or above preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare facility codes and standards is a plus (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI).
  • Basic knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance planning of HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, and other mechanical systems specific to healthcare environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and healthcare facility managers.
  • Perform field inspections as guided by senior level members of the real estate team.
  • Review mechanical design documents and drawings for compliance with healthcare codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI Guidelines).
  • Participate in data collection and documentation related to mechanical systems.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and project proposals
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to mechanical engineering in healthcare facilities.
