The ideal candidate is a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern who will assist with the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems for various building projects. This role is suitable for someone with a foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles, eager to learn and contribute within a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic familiarity with Revit or similar design software
  • Understanding of HVAC and mechanical system fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Ability to obtain necessary clearances and access to military installations (if applicable)

Nice To Haves

  • EIT certification is a plus
  • Internship or academic project experience in mechanical systems preferred
  • Familiarity with industry codes (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and basic analysis of mechanical systems using industry-standard tools
  • Support the development of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial and institutional projects
  • Help prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Use Revit and other BIM tools to assist in developing coordinated designs
  • Participate in occasional site visits and help document observations
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and team members to support project goals and code compliance
  • Assist in reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate with team members to help meet project deadlines
  • Provide support for proposals, project scopes, and technical tasks as needed
