A Mechanical Engineer Co-op role is an educational opportunity for an Engineering student to work alongside senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical components and solutions for RF Coils utilized in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This role will be responsible for individual and team assignments and will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, manufacture and service complex MRI systems and components throughout all phases of the product development life cycle.

Requirements

  • Currently Enrolled pursuing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Related Field
  • Experience with Mechanical Design and use of SolidWorks or equivalent 
  • Basic knowledge in using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D Solid modelling software 
  • Skills in MS Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Clear written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and multitask

Nice To Haves

  • Prior professional internships, relevant lab or university experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Mechanical design and analysis of RF coils
  • Verification and validation of mechanical design, including supporting engineering builds and testing
  • Failure analysis of mechanical components
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes, including 3D printing
