RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, fixed termFunctional area: EngineeringRemuneration: Non-Exempt Responsibilities: Learn to develop and design building systems (HVAC and Central Plants) Gain an understanding of building plans and the supporting mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems Learn the basics of solar PVE and battery projects Perform basic AutoCAD/REVIT design functions to generate drawings Learn applicable building and design codes Learn about the application of HVAC equipment including applicable types, sizes, and selection details Contact and interface with equipment vendors for equipment selections and support Perform HVAC and mechanical system calculations using excel and customized programs (ie: Carrier Hourly Analysis Program) Conduct research and document results for system applications Introduction to other aspects of the business such as development, M&V, commissioning, and project management Travel to project sites as necessary to gather field information for design projects Project Overview Preliminary & Investment Grade Audit: During the preliminary audit, with support from staff engineers, generate descriptions of building parameters and HVAC systems using facility record drawings and facility documentation. Coordinate with vendors to obtain equipment selections to input performance data into the model templates. Draft a description of select energy conservation measures using technical writing Design: During the preliminary design, generate schematic level design narratives and schematic layouts under direction of staff engineers. Work with the development, design, and construction teams to develop details needed for subcontractor bid packages. Continue to support design effort through the development of drawings, specifications, and calculations Construction: During the construction process, review and track select submittal data against the basis of design materials and equipment to confirm compliance with design documents Commissioning: Work with the commissioning team to review issues logs, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance testing information Measurement & Verification: Work with the measurement and verification team to identify and audit parameters for design packages and review system performance data and compare against the proposed energy model performance Job Requirements and Experiences: Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree (or higher) program in Engineering No experience required, but familiarity with building systems, energy systems or HVAC systems preferred Able to interact effectively across multiple disciplines to achieve goals and meet deadlines Must have good analytical and computer skills and attention to detail Leadership, verbal, written and interpersonal skills Analytical and technical writing skills including word processing and spreadsheet analyses AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency preferred Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Pay range: The hourly base range for this position in New York for undergraduates is $25.00 - $35.00 an hour, and for graduates is $30.00 - $40.00. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
