The Mechanical Engineer working in a R&D/Pilot production facility is typically responsible for supporting the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of process equipment and systems while assisting in production optimization and documentation tasks. Project management for assigned projects also required. Plan and execute industrial projects from start to finish Assist in the setup and configuration of pilot-scale manufacturing equipment and production lines. Work with the contractors/local county personnel to procure permits prior to equipment installation. Apply engineering skills to solve mechanical, structural and logistical challenges. Perform basic engineering calculations and equipment recommendations for production and process improvement. Support testing and validation of process technologies, including the analysis of samples and data collection from pilot runs. Help troubleshoot mechanical issues encountered during operation and participate in equipment maintenance activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review design modifications and process changes needed for scale-up. Document findings, draft technical reports, and maintain logs of pilot studies and production activities. Prepare 3D drawings, technical documents, and bills of materials as needed for new or revised system components. Participate in training sessions for operators and presentations summarizing pilot study results.
