As a Mechanical Engineer, your primary goal is to provide on-site and remote support to continuously improve performance and address mechanical needs of our sites and plants in NA. This role involves providing input and assistance for capital projects, while also taking the lead in developing strategies and programs to improve the operations of site infrastructure and plant equipment. Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (preferably Mechanical).
  • Have 5-7+ years of experience in mechanical design and equipment expertise within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience with static equipment, such as tanks, piping, insulation, etc.
  • Can make critical business decisions and recommendations.
  • Possess prior experience in successfully supporting designs for capital projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Driving improvements at BASF sites in the region by delivering effective mechanical engineering designs for sites and plants in both engineering support and capital projects.
  • Partnering with local and regional project teams by providing input on capital project scope and equipment to achieve project objectives in capital investments.
  • Support our team’s process and system design needs to deliver efficient and clear designs that achieve our project objectives and plant technology requirements.
  • Collaborating with various functions of BASF Engineering and Maintenance globally to align on work processes, procedures, methodologies and best practices.
  • Interfacing closely with regional and global expertise teams to continuously improve the tools and processes that develop, maintain, and deliver mechanical reliability to our sites in the region.
