What does this role look like? As an Engineer on our team, you’ll collaborate with a diverse workforce to develop, design, fabricate, test, and deliver FRUs that meet the highest aerospace standards. Your primary focus will be on creating design solutions that support the organization’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments with the ability to meet program deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application to engineering drawings.
  • Recent experience performing mechanical or structural design/modeling within the space, aerospace, or related high-reliability industries (e.g., DSR6).
  • Experience using PTC Creo for 3D modeling and design (version 10 preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Successful candidate would have 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience supporting mechanical or structural design.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME and their application to engineering design.
  • Experience designing components for missiles, aerospace systems, or other complex defense hardware.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop detailed engineering drawings, including DSR6 and application of GD&T.
  • Experience supporting the assembly and integration of missiles, aerospace systems, or other complex defense hardware.
  • Familiarity with EPDM/Windchill for product data management and configuration control.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and their application to hardware development.

Responsibilities

  • Transition First Stage Rocket Motor (FRSM) and Second Stage Rocket Motor (SSRM) Interface Control Models (ICMs) from individual parts to fully integrated assemblies.
  • Generate and submit detailed Inspection Reports for each motor level ICM.
  • Complete Mechanical Compatibility Checklists to confirm fit, form, and function across all interfaces.
  • Perform additional Level of Effort (LOE) tasks as needed to facilitate the transition process.
