This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. These “solid-state” laser crystals are used in products ranging from medical lasers to military laser systems. In this job, you will: Convert internal customers’ sketches, concepts, and ideas into detailed, accurate CAD drawings suitable for machinists while maintaining internal engineering drawing standards. Update and maintain CAD network/library of drawings for current and past jobs. Act as the primary link between internal stakeholders and machinists to ensure clear communication of requirements, priorities, and timelines. Oversee and manage the job scheduling system to ensure efficient workflow in the machine shop, prioritizing jobs based on deadlines, material availability, and customer needs. Continuously track job progress and provide updates to all relevant parties. Oversee the ordering and inventory of materials, tools, and consumables to maintain optimal stock levels and support uninterrupted workflow. Source and evaluate suppliers to optimize material and tool procurement. Develop, implement, and maintain a shop 5S plan to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient working environment. Oversee shop equipment maintenance and coordinate with vendors for machine repairs if/when necessary. Assist the facilities team when additional resources are needed for critical infrastructure projects.
