About The Position

Pebble is looking for a new graduate Mechanical Engineer, Hydraulic and Fluids System to join our Platform Team. Ownership is one of our core values, and from day one you'll own the design and development of real fluid system components on our platform — with senior engineers to mentor you, review your work, and help you grow. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to take your designs from concept through validation and into production. The ideal candidate is eager to take on ownership, has hands-on exposure to CAD tools (Catia and/or SolidWorks) through coursework, internships, or student projects, and is excited about hydraulic and fluid systems — fresh and waste water, pumps, valves, fittings, water heating, HVAC and cooling lines, coolants and refrigerants, and their integration with chassis, body, and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (recent graduate or graduating within the next 6 months)
  • 0–2 years of experience; internships, co-ops, and research assistantships count
  • Hands-on experience with a parametric CAD tool (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, or similar) through coursework, projects, or internships; exposure to Catia is a plus
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, machine design)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for your work end-to-end

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or research experience in the automotive, RV, marine, aerospace, HVAC, or broader fluid systems industry
  • Hands-on experience through student engineering teams where fluid or thermal systems are relevant — FSAE, Baja SAE, Formula Electric (cooling loops), Solar Car (thermal management), Chem-E Car, rocketry/propulsion teams, or similar
  • Coursework or projects in fluid mechanics, thermal systems, piping/hydraulic design, or HVAC
  • Experience with CFD or thermal/fluid simulation tools such as ANSYS Fluent, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or SimScale; exposure to Star-CCM+ or OpenFOAM is a plus
  • Familiarity with GD&T or drafting standards (ASME Y14.5)
  • Hands-on fabrication skills (machining, welding, tube bending, 3D printing)
  • Exposure to piping or plumbing codes/standards (e.g., ASME, UPC, IPC, RVIA)
  • Personal projects involving fluid systems, fabrication, or vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hydraulic and fluid system components, with guidance and review from senior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and test
  • Meet with suppliers and partner with our procurement team to help deliver initial parts, track quality, and resolve issues as they come up
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze data to optimize your designs
  • Create detailed engineering CAD models, drawings, plumbing schematics, and documentation
  • Perform and support testing and validation of fluid systems, including leak, pressure, flow, and durability testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hydraulic and fluid system issues as they arise
  • Stay curious — track industry trends and advancements in fluid system engineering
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams
  • Support the team in meeting regulatory, sanitation, and safety standards (e.g., NSF, plumbing codes, RVIA where applicable)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
