About The Position

Design, document, test and oversee the fabrication of mold reinforcement, construction of assembly jigs, and development of fixtures required to support production.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in 2D and 3D drawing and CAD software.
  • Must be proficient in providing direction to shop personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in production area.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and use of company-wide software programs.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the analysis, design and construction oversight of all production mold reinforcement and bracing.
  • Responsible for the design, documentation, construction oversight and testing of all manufacturing jigs and fixtures required for vessel assembly.
  • Responsible for the design, documentation and specification of all vendor parts required to produce production tooling.
  • Develop associated construction tolerances based on fixture design and implement appropriate process controls to insure repeatable construction methods.
  • Audit manufacturing jigs, fixtures and other tools on a regular basis to ensure proper maintenance and use in the production system.
  • Create process instructions outlining proper use of jigs and fixtures as required.
  • Engage with project teams to ensure that jig and fixture design is in alignment with other construction procedures.
  • Develop bill of materials and associated cost estimates for jigs, fixtures and mold bracing.
  • Engage with project teams to ensure construction procedures are in alignment with jig and fixture design.
  • Responsible for providing direction and training to the Product Launch Team, or other necessary personnel, and implementing jigs and fixtures in accordance with department schedule and key milestones
  • Participate in resolution of ECN and CAR issues for production.
  • Maintain department schedule to meet key milestones.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
