The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and SustainmentThe Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence”, serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.      SCOPE   The Mechanical Assembler is critical to MLS' success in providing quality products to our customers in a timely fashion. This position is responsible for executing manufacturing/assembly instructions under direct supervision.  This individual must treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work with integrity and ethics; uphold MLS values and is committed to company vision and mission statement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Competency in MLS' procedures and processes as identified in MLS' training matrix
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English
  • Strong ethics and team player.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. All applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of ITAR, as defined: a U.S. Citizen, a lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Responsibilities

  • Build product mechanical sub-assemblies and/or final assemblies.
  • Test products or sub-assemblies for functionality or quality with oversight.
  • Follow drawings, production routers, guidelines and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are within limits.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain clean production equipment and work areas.
  • Measure and record data associated with operating equipment.
  • Transfer hazardous or non-hazardous waste materials to collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse.
  • Adhere to established manufacturing and material control policies and procedures in compliance with ISO quality standards.
  • Utilize cellular and lean manufacturing techniques throughout production and repair.
  • Assist other areas of the manufacturing operations on an as-needed basis.
  • Support other areas of the manufacturing operations on an as-needed basis.
  • Adhere FOD policies and procedures.
