About The Position

The position is for a Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician, starting as temporary with the potential to transition to full-time. The work environment is characterized by a very dusty and dirty atmosphere, with literal piles and loads of dirty recycling within the building. The role requires a strong mechanical background, extensive welding skills including stick welding and MIG, with a specific emphasis on vertical stick welding. Candidates will be required to pass a weld test. Essential experience includes a minimum of 2 years in-field welding or heavy fabrication, and a minimum of 2 years in heavy equipment repair. A mechanical background in areas like auto or railroad car repair is also relevant. While heavy electrical experience with 240/480volt is considered a plus, it is not a mandatory requirement. The company explicitly states that they are not seeking individuals with building maintenance or production welding backgrounds. All new hires must watch a video and sign documents related to attendance, work rules, cell phone policy, and other company policies.

Requirements

• Mechanical background
• Proficiency in stick welding
