About The Position

Installs, tests and repairs mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment and production machine malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and/or electrical support to all areas of manufacturing and production.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills required e.g. sending emails, utilizing CMMS software via tablet or desktop
  • Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team with internal and external partners
  • Communicates effectively with written, oral, and verbal direction
  • Safely operates hand tools and basic power tools
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years machine maintenance or machining experience at a manufacturing company or closely related industry preferred
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory management, snow removal, and building automation systems preferred
  • Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and powered industrial trucks
  • 2-5 years of relevant trade or mechanical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains Wastewater Treatment System as well as Central Coolant Systems
  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairs on equipment
  • Handles a variety of chemicals and oils, including hazardous wastes. Utilizes proper PPE and equipment. Ensures proper labeling per state and federal requirements.
  • Maintain necessary maintenance records. Detect and report unusual conditions problems to proper supervisor.
  • Move and store tools, materials, equipment and components as directed.
  • Maintain inventories and serve as backup for chip, coolant, and waste removal operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility, grounds, and mechanical spaces
  • Maintain facility locks and key systems, including on site key fabrication
  • Perform general carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance work of company owned properties
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Participates in regular skills and safety trainings
  • Available to work overtime to support repairs and projects as needed
