ROCKWOOL is seeking a talented and energetic Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering student to join the Engineering team in our Ranson, WV location. This position is onsite full time from May through August, 2026. Providing operations with high-end technical solutions and ensuring continuous improvements, you will play an important role in our continued expansion worldwide. Requirements

  • Must have completed 2 full years of coursework and be considered a Junior or Senior at your current place of study. Masters and PhD students will also be considered
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering majors
  • Prior experience taking the lead on projects
  • A love of the manufacturing process and excited about being part of the solution from inception to finished product
  • Flexibility to take on various projects within the manufacturing facility

Responsibilities

  • Construction of modular pump units
  • Construction of modular mixing units
  • As-Designed versus As-Built curing ovens and heating plant auxillary designs
  • Find 5 pieces of equipment where maintenance tasks or getting spare parts into and out of can be tricky and devise solutions
  • Design of wheel and bottom plate for spinners for brownfield upgrades
  • Debug issues with the PLC network through studying network drawings and verifying the configuration and installation
  • Modify existing HMI screens to enhance functionality with operations/maintenance manuals and additional instruction
  • Investigate problems that will require studying historical data from PLCs to provide clear solutions
  • Work with factory electricians to troubleshoot related problems or construction installation details.
