Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with MANTECH! MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanic Technician to join our vehicle sustainment team in Fort Irwin, California. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of qualified automotive maintenance experience.
  • Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters
  • Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, and a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements, if needed.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.
  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems.
  • Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.
  • Experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.
  • Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
  • Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
  • Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
