About The Position

Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lift station and waste treatment equipment and machinery. Determines nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair it, or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need lubricating, additional oil for the engine is needed, plugs or points needed, etc. Work is performed under supervision of Mechanic Supervisor or Manager and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness

Requirements

Mechanic I - High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess a Valid Florida Driver's License or Florida Commercial Driver's License A, B, or C prior to employment, depending on equipment assigned to position.
Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list attached).
Must have a home phone or cell phone.
Some positions must pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece.
WASTEWATER LIFT STATION Must obtain and maintain a security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of hire date.
Mechanic II - High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and three (3) years of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid Florida Driver's License or Florida Commercial Driver's License A, B, or C may be required prior to employment, depending on the equipment assigned to the position.

A Valid FWPCOA Wastewater Collection 3 Certification may be required, depending on the area of assignment.
