About The Position

The Mechanic Helper is responsible for assisting with various mechanical maintenance and repairs on offshore and land facilities. This role supports the primary mechanics in troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining mechanical systems, while ensuring safety and compliance with project rules.

Requirements

Valid TWIC card.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must live within 45 minutes from the shop.
Ability to work overtime, holidays, and be available for call-outs as required.

Nice To Haves

Highly preferred to have 1+ year experience offshore as a diesel engine or compressor mechanic.

Responsibilities

Assist with mechanical maintenance and repairs on offshore and land facilities.
Work on a 24/7 call-out schedule, with availability for overtime and holidays as needed.
Service, maintain, and test engine shutdown systems.
Troubleshoot compressors and engines, performing field repairs as necessary.
Gain knowledge of engine systems and engine controls, with the ability to assist in complete in-frame overhauls and rebuilds.
Support the maintenance and repair of natural gas packages and pumps.
Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
Provide support to account managers and customers via phone, email, or in person.
Complete preventative maintenance on department equipment.
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, participating in safety training and procedures.
Take proper care of test instruments and tools.
May be required to travel to worksites via marine or helicopter transport and reside at the worksite on a predetermined schedule.
Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently without direct supervision.
