About The Position

The Meat Manager trainee reports to the Meat Manager and has direct responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Meat and Seafood Department at their location(s). This person's primary duties include: Meat Managers should demonstrate proficiency in all phases of supermarket management including; organization, merchandising, customer relations, staffing, training, employee relations, labor scheduling, cleanliness, food safety, inventory control, rotation, and related functions as required or assigned. The Meat Manager must be able (and willing) to provide effective leadership and direct supervision for salaried staff and subordinate employees in a positive and impactful manner, take direction from Buehler’s supervision, and conduct themselves in a manner that is supportive of Buehler’s Fresh Foods including … Accountable for all elements that impact profit and loss.Driven to maximize sales and grow margin.Sets the pace and assures compliance with customer service standards for all members of the store team.Works with the management team to develop “best” schedules and executes a staffing plan that makes best use of hours and talent. Requirements

  • Availability: 5-days, 40-45 hours per week, OT paid for any hours exceeding 40, store hours including 1-2 nights until close
  • Ability to work in multiple stores and under several managers over the training period
  • Prior Meat experience required or demonstrates the ability to manage the Meat Department
  • Repetitive lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing and carrying to 50#; occasional lifting and carrying to 100# -- this is a very physical job
  • Responsible, team-oriented, organized, productive, having outstanding customer relations and leadership skills, able to work with co-workers in a positive manner, reliable, dependable, on time and rarely absent, and able to work with minimal supervision
