About The Position

The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) at The Home Depot works independently in a traveling field role, supporting the Field Services Organization. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver high-quality professional customer service that consistently meets or exceeds company standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities include performing in-home measure appointments, building and maintaining customer relationships, and interacting with customers daily. This role supports sales, product inquiries, takes in-home measurements, and coordinates installations within the Measurement Services center Field Services Organization. The Measure Technician is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience through accurate measurements, calculations, quote review, and presentation. This full-time, field-based associate primarily travels to appointments within a pre-defined geographical area (e.g., Aurora, IL and surrounding areas) and may also provide services support to company locations. All tasks are completed using company-issued devices, with a focus on achieving goals related to customer service, measure accuracy, timeliness, and sales productivity.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Reliable Transportation
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
  • 1+ years of previous related work experience
  • No previous leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Cooperate with Associates, Supervisors, and Managers to complete all other work activities as assigned.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and adhere to work schedule.
  • Ask customers open ended questions and listen to responses about their projects and product needs.
  • Describe features and benefits of merchandise as well as steps involved in completing projects.
  • Demonstrate product and services knowledge in answering customer questions.
  • Identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs.
