About The Position

The MDS Assistant supports the accurate and timely completion of all Medicare and Medicaid case-mix documents to ensure appropriate reimbursement for services provided. This role coordinates the RAI process, ensuring the MDS, CAA assessments, and Interdisciplinary Care Plans are completed thoroughly and on schedule. Additionally, the MDS Assistant maintains organized documentation and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members to uphold compliance and quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous MDS experience
• Must possess current Virginia RN License
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Appropriate and timely completion of MDS’s and Care Plans
• Ensures the MDS/RAI deadlines and accuracy requirements are met while ensuring that coding most appropriately captures each patient’s acuity and needs for accurate and optimal reimbursement
• Attends care plan meetings, morning meetings, and QA
