Requirements
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency with MDS 3.0
- Strong computer and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Registered Nurse preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the MDS assessment process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
- Establish and maintain assessment schedules in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Review and transmit assessments to the Department of Health
- Analyze assessment data and collaborate with leadership to recommend policy and process improvements
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans to support effective, person-centered resident care
- Oversee Medicare and Medicaid assessment schedules and coverage determinations
- Initiate Medicare coverage for eligible residents and issue denial notifications when required
- Stay current on Medicare and Medicaid regulations and assist with documentation needed for reimbursement
