About The Position

The MCIS Call Center Triage Clinician will use their knowledge of and experience with utilizing community-based services and the wraparound process to provide clinical care and support to adults and their families and to prevent hospitalization and stabilize adults in the community. Requirements

  • The person holding this position must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, psychology, or related field and must be professionally licensed or license eligible in the state of Massachusetts.
  • This person must have experience with computers, specifically Electronic Health Records systems.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • At least one year experience working with adults and their families in a clinical role.
  • Able to provide clinical care and support to adults and their families to prevent hospitalization and stabilize adults in the community.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Awareness of personal attitudes, beliefs, biases, and assumptions about others
  • Knowledge of the various dimensions of diversity, including gender, race, and ethnicity
  • Acknowledging that people from other cultural groups may not share the same beliefs and practices or perceive experiences in the same way
  • Cultural knowledge of key populations that will be served to address disparities in service delivery
  • Demonstrates positive attitudes towards cultural differences by showing respect and openness towards people whose social and cultural background is different from one's own
  • Demonstrates skills for communication and interaction across cultures, including the ability to recognize and manage personal behaviors, moods, and impulses to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming climate within the agency

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside other MCI staff in the call center
  • Triaging calls for service throughout shift
  • Provide brief solution focused interventions and reassess current level of need with adults waiting for higher level of care treatment
  • Post crisis evaluation over the course of a six-day intervention period for adults deemed appropriate to return to the community
  • Provide brief solution focused interventions
  • Work collaboratively with family partners to provide resources/referrals, support, and psychoeducation to families
  • Attend community-based meetings in conjunction with adults, their families, and providers to assist with advocacy and addressing safety concerns
  • Complete collateral contacts with adults’ providers
  • For adults not involved with ICC, provide a bridge service of care coordination while a referral is being made
  • Assist with safety planning over the course of the six-day intervention period and outside the evaluation/intervention period As Needed Responsibilities
  • Complete intake data form by telephone or in person either on site or at outreach locations
  • Confirm health care coverage
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health status exam for adults and adults utilizing an admissions/screening instrument which includes providing a diagnosis in accordance with the DSM IV and DSMV
  • Telephone screening and consultations
  • Understanding of different treatment modalities that can be applied to stabilize clients in their home and prevent hospitalization
  • Consult with clinic director/administrator on call and or consulting psychiatrist prior to disposition plan to include outpatient services, hospitalization or hospital diversion
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision, staff meetings, staff development, and training curriculum
  • All 24-hour program staff are considered essential. Essential staff are defined as personnel who are expected to report to work as scheduled, regardless of holidays and/or during any emergency situation and/or agency closing (i.e. inclement weather) to ensure the ongoing operations of the program.
  • Due to the type of work and client needs, this position may need to work beyond a forty-hour work week. Additionally, essential staff may be required to remain on shift or work an additional shift until relief staff are available. For overnight positions, staff are required to stay awake for the entirety of their shift.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy. Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events, and trainings
