The Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations (MCCO) Tool Developer program builds custom software that supports real-world cyber missions. Developers create tools that help defend Marine networks, identify vulnerabilities, automate cyber tasks, and support authorized offensive cyber operations. It’s a hands-on, mission-driven role where you’ll design and prototype solutions used directly by Marine Corps cyber teams and U.S. Cyber Command. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Cloud Architect, the work you’ll do for GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) at Ft. Meade, MD: Define and guide the technical vision for advanced software and system architectures that directly support Marine Corps cyber missions. Lead the strategy, design, and adoption of cloud technologies that power MARFORCYBER’s most critical operations. Engineer smart, secure data models and interfaces that ensure high performance, reliability, and mission-grade security. Own and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to keep mission systems resilient, available, and ready. Build, configure, and secure cloud environments that meet strict DoD and cybersecurity standards. Continuously monitor and optimize cloud systems to keep them running at peak performance. Create clear, high-quality documentation and architecture artifacts that guide teams and shape future capabilities. Partner closely with developers and operators to deliver modern, scalable, secure cloud-based solutions that make a real operational impact. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your software engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Our Cloud Architect must have: Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Experience: 10+ years of experience in software architecture, cloud architecture, or related fields. Expertise with C/C++; Python highly desired Proficiency with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM Cloud. Experience with cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, containers, and serverless computing. Strong understanding of cloud operations, monitoring, and compliance. Ability to define system architecture, design data models, and develop interface specifications. Experience maintaining technical documentation and system architecture diagrams.
