We are looking for a skilled, detail oriented, professional Registered Nurse for the full-time position of Maternal Infant Health Program Specialist RN. Through partnership with medical providers, health departments, and community-based organizations across the state, this position is responsible for supporting maternal and infant health programs and policies. You have the passion, we have the opportunities – let’s make a difference for Nebraskans This position is a critical part of Nebraska's approach to improving maternal and child health. As the subject matter expert for preconception, prenatal, and postpartum issues, this position helps design programs and resources to help new mothers achieve optimal health and birthing outcomes. Working with a team of MCH staff, this position shares responsibility for implementation of projects like safe sleep campaigns, efforts around perinatal regionalization through the Rural Health Transformation Program, and promotion of related projects like Prenatal Plans of Safe Care or home visiting. This is a data-driven position and experience with evaluation and/or continuous quality improvement is preferred.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Nebraska and experience working as a professional Registered Nurse
  • Ability to: establish and maintain positive relationships with agency staff, service providers and the public
  • communicate effectively via memos, reports or group discussions with agency staff, service providers and others to promote, explain, discuss, advise and interact with them on various program details or issues
  • interpret and explain medical terms, diseases, conditions and treatment in layman's language.
  • Knowledge of: methods and techniques of program planning and budgeting
  • general procedures followed in various types of physical examinations and treatment
  • available community medical services.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years related nursing experience.
  • Experience with evaluation and/or continuous quality improvement.
  • Public Health experience.
