About The Position

Formlabs is seeking a Materials Technician to join their team, aiming to bring professional 3D printers to designers, engineers, researchers, and artists worldwide. The 3D printing industry is rapidly growing, with materials development being a key area for innovation and expanding user applications. The materials science team collaborates with hardware and software engineers to develop and troubleshoot new resins. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, inspired individual who enjoys lab work and is meticulous in data gathering.

Requirements

• Have at least one (1) year relevant laboratory or material characterization working experience
• Are safety-conscious and ready to actively promote safe behavior & lab operations
• Efficiently document, analyze, and share data
• Able to work in a self-directed environment to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mechanical characterization of polymers or plastics
• Chemical wet lab or analytical lab experience
• Experience with 3D printing

Responsibilities

• Reliably execute materials characterization testing with meticulous documentation
• Work with a team of diverse scientists and engineers to carry out experiments and support materials development
• Effectively communicate status updates and results to the team
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace
